
Banjarbaru, In order to provide learning facilities and open up insights and inspire students about good communication within an organization and prepare themselves for the working world. The Karya Salemba Empat Foundation (KSE) and Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) held the activity of "Face-to-Face and Talkshow KSE Borneo (ULM, UPR and UNMUL)" for KSE scholarship recipients.
This event took place in the auditorium 1 of the ULM Faculty of Engineering on January 27 to 28, 2024, and was attended by 120 (one hundred and twenty) KSE scholarship recipients, with details as follows:
-40 students from Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM)
-40 students from Palangkaraya University (UPR)
-40 students from Mulawarman University (UNMUL)
ULM Vice Rector for Alumni and Student Affairs Dr. Rusmin Nuryadin, SE., M.Si appreciated this talkshow activity as well as the scholarships and KSE's commitment in the field of education through scholarships to ULM students and students in Kalimantan. "The contribution of the Karya Salemba Empat Foundation with more than 20,000 alumni is truly extraordinary because it offers not only material support but also soft skills and networking that will be very useful for the students in the future," said Dr. Rusmin. He also hoped that in the future, the scholarship recipients could be expanded from the 3 state universities that are currently running.
The Karya Salemba Empat Foundation (KSE) is a non-profit organization focused on education. Established in 1998 by alumni of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Indonesia, KSE aims to assist outstanding students from underprivileged families in pursuing their undergraduate education (S1).
KSE provides scholarships to undergraduate students, starting from the 2nd semester, in 35 selected State Universities (PTN). This scholarship offers a living allowance of Rp 750,000 per month for 1 year, which can be extended. In addition, KSE also conducts mentoring programs for the personal development of scholarship recipients, such as leadership, entrepreneurship, and seminars based on the recipients' interests.
By 2023, KSE has provided scholarships to more than 30,000 students from 35 PTNs. The KSE scholarship has become one of the leading scholarship programs in Indonesia and has helped many outstanding students to achieve their aspirations.
Overall, the purpose of this event is to encourage and prepare scholarship recipients to become graduates with integrity, a national perspective, love for the homeland, nation, and country, and the capacity and competence to become potential leaders in the future, as well as to build good communication and relationships among students, donors, the academic community, and KSE.
It also aims specifically to:
-Be a source of motivation and a means of bonding among KSE scholarship recipients
-Understand the values of sharing, networking & development
-Inspire students to effectively convey messages and communicate clearly
-Gain knowledge about career management or preparation for the working world
-Enable students to recognize personal mental health early on to build a positive self
